Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing and shaping the Oncology service line. In this highly visible position, the AVP oversees the full Oncology portfolio at PPMC, including strategic partnerships with the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Hematology Oncology. This responsibility spans multiple sites across Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, offering a broad platform to drive growth, enhance patient care, and elevate operational excellence. Beyond Oncology, the AVP also leads key non-clinical and ancillary services, ensuring seamless integration and high-performing operations across the medical center. Success in this role requires a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who will work closely with academic and clinical partners to develop and execute innovative service line strategies. The AVP will be instrumental in aligning operations with PPMC's mission, fostering cross-functional partnerships, and delivering measurable outcomes in quality, access, and experience Responsibilities: Effectively manage operating budgets for assigned Departments or Programs Provides leadership for achievement of organizational goals Prepares and submits regular reports on operational metrics related to Hospital goals Develops work plans for each Department or area in support of Hospital goals Ensure that Department and areas meet all required regulatory goals Prepares annual operating and capital budgets Makes recommendations for changes and improvements to service delivery Participates and or leads negotiations with vendors for required services Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) -Education Specialization: Business, Healthcare, Public Administration, or Healthcare related field 10+ years related experience required 5 or more years of management experience in the leadership of operational functions and services of a major hospital, health system or faculty practice plan required Master of Arts or Science preferred -Specialization: Business, Healthcare, Public Administration, or Healthcare related field Equivalent Experience We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
