Summary:
This position reports directly to the Chief Program Officer of Inpatient Services. Specifically, to support adult facility based crisis units, and possibly for brief periods child units. Duties may include, but are not limited to budgeting, interviewing, hiring, doing performance evaluations, and establishing an impactful milieu. There should be continuous quality improvement activities around staff training on safety, accreditation standards, clinical, medical needs, and overall direct care performance. There will be data sets to analyze, offer feedback and act upon ranging from budget compliance, admission rates, follow up rates, to patient satisfaction and authorization compliance. Offers on-going mentoring, coaching and training to FBC Center Directors. Works with FBC Center Directors to assure adequate staffing at all times to meet service demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures strict compliance with all professional standards, IPRS/NC State, Federal Medicaid and Medicare regulations, agency policies and procedures, including timely and accurate documentation by staff. Ensures client care standards and compliance with all rules for the facility. Ensures continuous quality improvement via staff training, data monitoring, and performance evaluations. Understands and able to provide staff training on quality documentation that meets all federal and state requirements for this service.
Provides input to assist clinicians, support staff and nursing staff on maintaining efficiency in processes and assist with training on new processes and procedures. Attends community and MCO crisis collaborative meetings and other FBC related community meetings as needed.
Assists the Inpatient Chief Program Officer in evaluating the ongoing performance of consumer services. May assist with the selection & hiring of staff, staff disciplinary interviews and maintaining documentation. Provides input to Inpatient CPO on key performance indicators including successful/unsuccessful treatment episodes, time from referral to admission/denial, discharge planning, authorization/billing concerns, TCM engagement, and other identified KPI.
Responsible for ensuring all staff meet/maintain annual required trainings. This includes oversight of temporary staff to confirm/ensure meeting of all training and operational requirements. Will become certified Mindset Trainer at first availability of course.
Maintains a presence at FBCs and understands that because of nature of service (24/7), expectation to accept phone calls, texts to ensure continued availability of management to provide continuity of care for patients. Provides communications to Inpatient CPO related to functioning of each center and any issues related to operations
All other duties as assigned by supervisor, medical director or other senior management
Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment knowledge. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Must possess strong knowledge of clinical skills, a vast knowledge base of mental health and substance abuse disorders and vigor to continue the learning process. Ability to communicate effectively with professionals and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: FBC Center Directors and potential other FBC staff as needed (e.g., Education Specialist, FBC Screener(s), FBC Scheduling Coordinator)

Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or other license eligible field preferred; MBA or other business degree a plus. Work history of three plus years of clinical practice required. Must have administrative supervisory history of no less than two years. Will consider other non-licensable degrees with commensurate work experience and skill, including BSN or RN.
