$140,000.00-$175,000.00We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Hospital Operations to lead and oversee day-to-day operational performance across the hospital campus. This role is responsible for translating organizational strategy into execution; driving efficiency, quality of care, patient throughput, and overall patient experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with a clinical background and demonstrated management experience who thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements
- Translate complex data, KPIs, and operational risks into actionable insights for executive leadership
- Lead hospital-wide initiatives including workflow redesign, operational readiness, and capital projects
- Oversee clinical infrastructure projects such as renovations, space planning, and new program implementation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Nursing, Medical Directors, Facilities, IT, and other stakeholders to drive operational excellence
- Manage real-time operational challenges including capacity constraints, high census periods, and emergency events
- Serve as Incident Commander during operational or clinical disruptions as needed
- Support regulatory readiness, accreditation activities, and compliance initiatives
- Lead post-event reviews, root cause analyses, and continuous improvement efforts
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture across multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
- 5+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required
- Strong knowledge of hospital operations, patient flow, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, DOH)
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives and manage cross-functional teams
