The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for performing complex accounting functions including analyzing financial information, monitoring internal control systems and supervises Accounting Coordinator staff. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Supports the organization’s strategic plan and workplace inclusion initiatives. Ensures productivity expectations, customer service and compliance standards are maintained. Abides by the organization’s mission in performing job duties. Responsibilities • Supervises the Accounting Coordinator function within the Finance department.
• In conjunction with Controller develops and executes short- and long-range .goals to meet the Finance department’s objectives.
• Performs monthly bank reconciliations within the established timelines.
• Performs general ledger account reconciliations, analyzes results and properly resolves differences.
• Works closely with the payroll team in Human Resources to ensure the UKG Human Resources Information System is coding expenses to the correct cost center.
• Compiles, enters and posts bi-weekly payroll journal entries.
• Assists the Finance team and other departments with questions about the chart of accounts and sub-accounts, processes, procedures.
• Maintains the inventory ledger, posting additions/deletions, booking sales and usage, and reconciling the sub-ledger to the general ledger.
• Assists with closing the books and producing monthly statements.
• Assists with Accounts Payable, Deposit Verification, and Revenue Cycle Management reconciliation workload as required.
• Reconciles Accounts Payable sub-ledger to general ledger, identify and resolve differences.
• Interacts with Health Services Regional Directors and management and Health Center teams on a weekly basis in verifying deposits and receipt of orders.
• Ensures all department allocation revisions are properly authorized and approved.
• Assists with preparation for audits and may provide leadership support to auditors while onsite.
• Propose and implement recommendations for improved processes.
• Ensure that all accounting, audit and financial reports are done as required accurately and within deadlines. Assures that financial reporting and all accounting functions are performed with the highest degree of integrity.
• Assists Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Controller with developing and preparing budgets.
• Understands the key financial indicators and financial implications of actions and decisions.
• Reviews, interprets, analyzes and communicates financial information.
• Keeps current knowledge of federal regulations, congressional actions and deliberations, and state and local activities influencing fiscal management of the organization.
• Assists the Controller with coaching managers regarding the organization’s fiscal management requirements.
• Provides oversight responsibility for accounting policies including the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), systems, and procedures. Maintains current accounting procedures.
• Produces timely and accurate reports to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and regulatory agencies as required.

• Has restricted access to client private health information and has no reason to view protected health information (PHI). May have access to data that is not considered PHI, such as aggregate numbers.

Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of relevant exempt experience or Associate’s degree + 3 years of relevant exempt experience or H/S diploma (or equivalent) + 5 years of relevant exempt experience.
Relevant exempt experience: Accounting or Finance. Healthcare industry experience preferred. Supervisory or management experience desired.
