Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) | Supervises: Medical Directors (Goodwin Community Health & Families First)

Greater Seacoast Community Health is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead and unify the medical strategy across our health centers. From primary and pediatric care to prenatal and psychiatric services, the CMO plays a critical leadership role in maintaining clinical excellence, improving access, and ensuring collaborative, patient-centered care.

As a trusted partner to the CEO, senior leadership team, and medical staff, the CMO acts as a vital bridge-facilitating communication, alignment, and shared vision across all levels of the organization. You'll provide guidance and support to Medical Directors, collaborate with clinical and operational leaders, and help shape a healthcare system where quality, equity, and compassion are at the center of everything we do.

What You'll Do

Medical Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide clinical oversight for all GSCH medical services across primary care, pediatrics, psychiatry, and prenatal programs.
  • Supervise and mentor Medical Directors, ensuring consistent standards of excellence across all clinical teams.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and other executive leaders, aligning medical strategy with organizational goals.
  • Foster strong partnerships with the medical staff, promoting two-way communication, clinical innovation, and continuous improvement.

Quality, Performance & Compliance

  • Lead physician performance monitoring, peer review, and regulatory compliance.
  • Champion quality improvement, patient safety, and risk reduction initiatives across all GSCH sites.
  • Ensure clinical documentation meets internal standards and external requirements.

Staff Development & Engagement

  • Mentor and support medical staff through coaching, training, and ongoing education.
  • Build a culture of accountability, integrity, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Support provider credentialing and uphold professional and ethical conduct standards.

Strategic & Organizational Planning

  • Contribute clinical leadership to strategic planning and program expansion efforts.
  • Actively engage with the senior leadership team to address site-level and system-wide priorities.
  • Support provider workforce planning, recruitment, and retention in partnership with the COO and CHRO.

Residency & Academic Leadership

  • Provide oversight and support for Family Medicine Residents from the HCA Healthcare/Tufts University School of Medicine Portsmouth Regional Hospital Residency program.
  • Promote academic excellence and integration of training programs into high-quality patient care.

What We're Looking For

  • NH-licensed physician in good standing (required)
  • 10+ years of clinical experience, with 3+ years of leadership experience (preferred)
  • Experience navigating complex systems and engaging both clinical and administrative teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to lead within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Proven ability to cultivate trust and alignment among medical staff and executive leadership

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Salary: Starting at $261,000annually, with potential for higher compensation based on experience
