Chief Medical Officer

Summary

We are seeking a Chief Medical Officer to join our leadership team at The Consortium, Inc. This pivotal role will oversee clinical operations, ensuring the highest standards of care are met while fostering a culture of recovery and empowerment within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensures psychiatric services and productivity support the agency’s mission
• Directly supervises psychiatric and nursing staff and oversees work quality of psychiatric contractors. Conducts supervisory and oversight meetings with psychiatric staff as necessary to achieve desired results and objectives
• Meets with the CEO as needed to resolve issues and concerns regarding medical services provided in Service Units.
• Recruits and evaluates medical staff and contractors in conjunction with Human Resource Department
• Identifies training needs; designs training protocols; provides training to medical staff, non-medical staff and trainees; recruits trainers from outside or inside the agency.
• Provides psychiatric evaluations and medication checks as needed
• Performs emergency duties and call coverage for all Physicians as needed.
• Serves as ultimate medical authority on quality assurance matters and in treatment team consideration of clinical issues and of individual client needs.
• Provides on-going supervision to medical staff on a needed basis
• Acts as a fill in for other physicians during emergencies, vacation and call outs.

Requirements

• Board eligible or Board Certified
• 6 years resident/training
• Medical License
• Liability Insurance according to state regulations, DEA, MD or OD degree
• 5 years experience as a Psychiatrist
• Proven experience in clinical development and medical management within behavioral health.
• Strong understanding of patient care protocols and hospital operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
