POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Associate Chief Medical Officer for Holmes Regional Medical Center (HRMC), a Level II Trauma Center, serves as a key physician leader supporting clinical operations, medical staff engagement, and care delivery excellence at the facility level. Reporting to the Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, HRMC, the Vice President, Associate Chief Medical Officer partners with hospital leadership, medical staff, and service line leaders to drive high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. The Vice President, Associate Chief Medical Officer supports clinical performance improvement, enhances physician alignment, and advances a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Vice President, Associate Chief Medical Officer plays a critical role in optimizing throughput, strengthening medical staff governance, and ensuring alignment between physicians and administration in support of Health First's Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic priorities.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leads, and acts as a consultant to the organized medical staff, service line leaders, and medical directors, as well as to contracted, employed, and independent physicians regarding effective engagement initiatives, policies, procedures, and operational drivers of success.
- Serves as a liaison between the Hospital leaders, Medical Staff, and Hospital Boards, in regard to patient care, performance improvement, quality and outcomes, patient safety, professional conduct, maintenance of professional standards, and compliance with Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, Regulations, and Policies, taking corrective action when required.
- Provides advice to the System Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Hospital Division, Senior Vice President, Hospital Division President, System Vice President, HD Chief Operations Officer, and Medical Staff President; working collaboratively on clinical and administrative matters, as well as on policy and public relations issues related to the medical staff and clinical services.
- Partners closely with the Vice President of Nursing, Tertiary to promote a culture of safety and quality improvement, overseeing quality assurance programs and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Advocates for a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring that the needs and preferences of patients and their families are respected and prioritized. Participates in patient safety and quality initiatives as a member of the system-wide Patient Safety Committee, aligning the general medical staff and its leadership with executive initiatives.
- Works in tandem with the CMO of the Hospital Division focusing on strategic initiatives to align clinical operations with the overall strategic goals of the organization.
- Oversees the review, analysis and evaluation of patient care in the hospital by working with Medical Staff officers, Department Chairs, and Committees, and assisting them to carry out their respective functions
- Leads emergency preparedness plans and protocols to effectively engage the medical staff in response to facility, community, regional disasters/crises.
- Contributes to the development of the hospital's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with clinical goals and community health needs.
- Monitors annual work plan progress and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, safety, patient experience, employee and medical staff satisfaction, growth, and financial performance. various physician performance metrics such as core measures, 30-day readmissions, improving HCAHPS communication scores, etc.
- Promotes a culture of innovation and continuous learning, implementing evidence-based practices and innovations in patient care; leads and supports initiatives to enhance patient experience and outcomes, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines to achieve exceptional results.

Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Any one of the following:
- Doctorate's degree in Medicine (MD) OR
- Doctorate's degree in Osteopathy Medicine (DO).
- Work Experience: Ten (10) years of clinical experience, including five (5) years in medical staff leadership or as a physician executive in healthcare.
- Licensure: Medical license in the State of Florida.
- Certification: Board certified in a relevant medical specialty prior to start date and maintained.

- Proficiency in data analysis tools, quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean), and healthcare information systems.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement methodologies, and healthcare regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills, time management, program development and management, action plan development and data analysis.
- A strong commitment to improving healthcare quality and patient safety.
- High ethical standards and integrity in all professional interactions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment and manage stress effectively.

PREFEFRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration (MBA/MHA), Public Health (MPH), or Medical Management.
- Work Experience: Experience in Medical Staff Governance, Clinical Utilization, and Clinical Documentation.
- Certification: Certified Physician Executive (CPE) certification.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Familiarity with healthcare technology and data analytics.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
