We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused DME Coordinator to join our healthcare administration team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing the billing, insurance verification, and revenue cycle processes for our durable medical equipment services. You will serve as a vital link between our patients, medical equipment logistics, and insurance providers, ensuring a smooth financial and administrative workflow.
Review and interpret insurance benefits, with a strong focus on verifying deductibles, copays, and coinsurance amounts.
Read and accurately interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to understand payment details and insurance denials.
Handle daily payment posting and precisely calculate and track outstanding patient balances.
Provide excellent, compassionate customer service by communicating clearly with patients regarding their financial responsibilities and insurance coverage.
Oversee the general workflow of equipment orders from intake through to final billing.
Proven experience in medical billing and a solid understanding of health insurance processes is required.
Strong capability in reading EOBs, understanding insurance terminology, and utilizing payment posting workflows.
Prior experience specifically working with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is highly preferred.
Practical experience using Brightree software is a major plus.
Experience with Athena EMR preferred.
Excellent verbal communication, sharp attention to detail, and top-tier customer service skills.
