Dental Hygiene Receptionist/Healthcare Program Clinical Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lake Area Technical College (LATC) is seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven, and proactive Clinical Coordinator to support allied health programs through the development and coordination of clinical education partnerships. This position is responsible for securing and maintaining clinical placement sites, coordinating student onboarding requirements, and serving as the primary liaison between LATC and healthcare organizations to ensure quality clinical experiences that meet program and accreditation standards.

In addition, a portion of this role supports the Dental Hygiene program through receptionist and administrative duties, including serving as the primary point of contact for patients, scheduling appointments, managing records, and assisting with daily clinic operations.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to work effectively with healthcare leaders, students, patients, and faculty. Candidates with backgrounds in healthcare, healthcare administration, recruiting, sales, human resources, customer service, or business development are encouraged to apply.

This position supports multiple Health Science programs, with allocated responsibilities based on enrollment and program needs, including:

50% Nursing

25% Dental Hygiene

5% Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

5% Medical Assistant (MA)

5% Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

5% Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

5% Surgical Technology

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in healthcare, healthcare administration, clinical coordination, recruiting, human resources, customer service, sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to conduct outreach and develop partnerships with external organizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and persistent in follow-up and problem-solving.
  • Experience with healthcare organizations, clinical placements, accreditation requirements, or student onboarding processes preferred.
  • Commitment to supporting student success and high-quality experiential learning opportunities.

REPORTS TO: Dental Hygiene Program Director , Center Director of Healthcare, Dean of Academics, Vice President

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations to secure and support clinical and preceptorship placements.
  • Conduct outreach through phone, email, and in-person visits to develop new clinical partnerships.
  • Collaborate with healthcare leaders and preceptors to align clinical opportunities with program needs.
  • Coordinate affiliation agreements and serve as the primary contact for clinical partners.

Clinical Placement Coordination

  • Coordinate student clinical placements across multiple health science programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of clinical placements, agreements, and site information.
  • Coordinate and submit required student documentation to clinical sites, including immunizations, background checks, drug screenings, CPR certification, and required training records.
  • Ensure students complete all site-specific onboarding and orientation requirements.

Dental Hygiene Program Support

  • Maintain student and patient records in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and accreditation standards.
  • Track student requirements including immunizations, CPR, and background checks.
  • Assist with biannual Advisory Board meeting preparation and documentation.
  • Support patient scheduling, confirmations, and referrals.
  • Maintain clinic supply inventory and coordinate equipment maintenance.
  • Provide administrative support for daily operations of the Dental Hygiene program.

WAGE RANGE: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month contract with compensation set by the Watertown School Board.
