Job Overview

Fairview is looking for a Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Technician at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is 56 hours per two weeks on the Day shift, 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend rotation.

About this Position:

Observes cardiac monitors, detecting and reporting abnormalities that may occur in the patients EKG status.

Responsibilities

  • Observes the cardiac monitors and analyzes, records, and documents the rhythm status for each monitored patient.
  • Communicates information regarding rhythm status, problems, concerns, etc to the RN, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, as appropriate.
  • Participates in meeting unit goals and objectives.
  • Performs clerical duties as delegated by the Clinical Director or Charge Nurse.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1 year experience of Transcription/Unit Coordinator experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year EKG/Monitor Tech experience
