Empath Health is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Finance , CPA that will work closely with our CFO to help direct the strategic financial operations of the organization. This individual will be a mission-driven financial executive with deep healthcare leadership experience-ideally in hospice, home health, or a large health system and will serve as our next Vice President of Finance. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading finance functions within complex, $1B+ healthcare organizations and has a strong track record navigating growth, M&A activity, and organizational change. This highly visible role requires exceptional executive presence, the ability to present confidently to the Board, and the capability to serve as a potential successor to the CFO. This leader will play a critical role in shaping Empath Health's financial strategy, operational excellence, and future growth. What you'll Do Provide strategic financial leadership across accounting, budgeting, cash management, receivables, A/P, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with Empath's mission and organizational goals. Lead a large, multi-layered finance organization (4 direct reports, ~100 indirect) through ongoing restructuring, optimization, and future-state team design during the first six months. Deliver timely, accurate financial analyses, forecasts, and Board-ready presentations; offer insights and recommendations that support executive decision-making. Oversee compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, internal controls, and all federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Direct and support financial operations during significant organizational growth, including M&A activity and integration of new service lines. What You'll Need CPA Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA required. Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred. Experience with Finance, Accounting, Receivables, A/P, Payroll etc. Extensive executive-level healthcare finance experience with proven leadership in hospice, home health, or large health systems. Healthcare experience required. Track record of leading finance operations in organizations of $1 billion+ in size, with experience navigating large-scale growth, M&A activity, and organizational change. Demonstrated success building and leading large teams, including multi-layered structures with significant indirect reporting lines. Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with the Board, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams. On-site , This role will work onsite at our Lakewood Ranch Executive Office, Monday-Friday.
