The Associate Medical Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality clinical services delivered by the staff of Family Health Services (FHS). The Medical Director has chosen to delegate specific responsibilities of the Associate Medical Director position, aside from physician peer review and discipline to the Associate Medical Director. This position will assume responsibility for the delivery, coordination and supervision of medical services provided at FHS. The Associate Medical Director would have four clinic days seeing patients and one administrative day.
Essential Functions
Completes all duties and responsibilities of a Nurse Practitioner to provide quality patient care.
Routinely meets with Medical Director to review clinical operations.
Provides information for inclusion in written performance evaluations for all direct report staff and submits written performance evaluations in accordance with policy requirements.
Identifies the need for staff education and assists in the development of in-service programs for clinical staff members.
Establishes and maintains clinical supervisory systems which allow staff growth and broaden the scope/efficacy of clinical services provided by staff.
Provides leadership and counsel in collaboration with Clinic Managers to clinical personnel to enhance staff development.
Participates in the development and oversight of organizational policies and procedures.
Reviews, establishes, and maintains patient care protocols and standards, ensuring that all federal and State policies, regulations and guidelines for patient care are met.
Collaborates with Clinic Managers in the delivery of quality patient care, maintenance of clinical documentation, and handling of complaints and/or medical emergencies.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces, promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
Provides care within the Sandusky City School Clinics at least two times a month an as needed.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a doctor office/clinic environment. This role is routinely exposed to common health care conditions, smells, noises, chemicals and such. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a Certified Nurse Practitioner
Must hold a diploma from an accredited institution in area of expertise.
CPR Certification
Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of clinical/direct patient care experience.
Minimum of 1-3 years of management experience.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
