Health Information Management Analyst
Job Summary
The HIM Analyst will help achieve the organizational and department goals for the management of health information which includes supporting the completeness, accuracy, integrity and privacy of the medical record documentation in a timely manner to be readily accessible for patient care. The HIM Analyst works closely with administrative, quality, clinical, and IT staff, including cooperative efforts to develop and sustain quality clinical/medical records to support the integration of HIM technologies. The Analyst will also ensure compliance with privacy, HIPAA, and other applicable federal, state and county regulations pertaining to HIM.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: $20.27-28.61. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
Analyze and validate patient records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. Follow-up with appropriate personnel to ensure records are completed.
Provide exemplary customer service for incoming phone and email requests, including requests for priority dictations, as well as problem-solving for any issues that cannot be resolved by the outsource company. Communicate professionally by phone, email, in person and with co-workers.
Assist with release of information (ROI) requests in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Prepare documents for scanning. Scans and verifies all documents with 98% accuracy and within a defined timeframe.
Responsible for enrolling patients and answering questions regarding MyHealth Portal.
Provide access to medical record information through internally defined release of information processes. This includes scheduling medical record review by outside auditors.
Participate in external and internal audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly
Problem-solving abilities
Previous Customer Service
Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
Health Information Technology Associate Degree
RHIA or RHIT certified
Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
Medical Records experience within an HIM Department
Schedule
Full-Time 80hrs/2wks
Onsite in Northfield, MN
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
