Job Summary

A respected healthcare services organization in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented medical administrative professional with strong patient scheduling, insurance authorization, and EMR experience.

As a Surgery Scheduler, you will help coordinate appointments, procedures, follow-ups, pre-operative testing, insurance verification, and patient communication. Key Responsibilities

- Schedule patient appointments, surgical procedures, follow-up visits, and related services.
- Verify insurance coverage, update patient demographics, and ensure accurate registration information.
- Submit and track insurance authorizations to support timely patient care.
- Coordinate pre-operative testing, including EKGs, lab work, imaging, and related documentation as needed.
- Request medical records from referring physicians, general providers, and outside facilities.
- Assist patients with questions regarding forms, paperwork, scheduling, and general process guidance.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate surgery scheduling, appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits.
- Manage insurance verification, demographic updates, and authorization submissions.
- Support pre-operative coordination, medical record requests, and patient communication.
- Maintain accurate information in EPIC or another electronic medical record system.

- At least 2 years of recent medical patient scheduling experience.
- Insurance authorization experience required for success in this role.
- Proficiency with EPIC or another EMR system required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple scheduling priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-focused and professional approach.
- Ability to work effectively with clinical teams, providers, patients, and external offices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience as a Surgery Scheduler or senior-level Patient Services Representative.
- Experience coordinating pre-operative testing, imaging, lab work, and EKG scheduling.
- Previous experience in a high-volume healthcare or specialty medical environment.
