Surgery and New Patient Coordinator
Duties:
- Schedule patients for in-patient and out-patient based procedures
- Serve as liaison between the office and surgery centers regarding surgery block management (utilization, optimization, coordination, and confirmation)
- Verify patient insurance information and obtain prior authorizations as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Document within patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations

Experience:
- Previous experience as a surgery coordinator or a similar role preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and systems such as Athena, Centricity, or Epic
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service
- Proficient in using computer systems for data entry and record keeping
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of scheduling operations in a medical office setting
