- Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting of joint lab and for-profit lab company. This includes Board presentations, cost allocations, fixed asset records, financial statements, regulatory and compliance filings.
- Responsible for development and management of the joint laboratory system capital and operating budgets.
- Acts as the liaison to Advocate and Aurora Finance departments. In conjunction with Aurora and Advocate Finance department establishes and maintains ACL finance policies.
- Oversees all financial reporting and billing related to Auroras for-profit commercial laboratory customers.
- Leads the negotiation process with managed care organizations, vendors and pathologists.
- Oversees outreach pricing and sales initiatives throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Oversees the preparation of ACL financial records and regulatory filings.
- Assists senior management in the marketing process as it relates to financial data.
- Establishes and maintains laboratory pricing for commercial for-profit customers.
- Oversees inter-system laboratory billing to other Aurora sites, the maintenance of the laboratory's co-tenancy fixed asset records, and external and inter-company co-tenancy laboratory disbursements.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
- Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 15 years of experience in finance or accounting. Includes 10 years of management experience in financial operations management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated success in contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication skills essential in order to interact effectively with all levels of management in and outside of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance managers and the joint laboratory Board.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare customer operations including but not limited to hospitals, physician clinics and extended care facilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
- This position requires travel so the incumbent will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
