Job Summary:

Reporting to the President of St. Mary's Health System, the DYP President provides leadership, direction, and administration of the functions of St. Mary's Elder Care Services, including St. Mary's Residences to ensure compliance with established objectives/regulations and the realization of quality, economical healthcare services, other services, and other related lines of business. The President of DYP serves as the licensed leader of DYP and works closely with health system senior leadership, medical staff, employees, residents, and families.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of licensing bodies by continually monitoring the operations and its programs and physical properties, and initiating changes where required.
  • Ensures the provision of affordable nursing facility and other corporate entities services by the acquisition, utilization, and organization of available resources (human, financial, and physical) and the development of improved techniques, practices, and new business line opportunities.
  • Directs Elder Care services and activities through competent administrative support staff, directors, and managers.
  • Assures the sound fiscal operation, including the timely, accurate, and comprehensive development of an annual budget and its implementation. Reviews and recommends all capital equipment expenditures.
  • Prepares and presents periodic reports regarding professional services and financial activities and other special reports as may be required.
  • Represents corporate entities in their relationships with other health agencies, organizations, and groups; in dealings with government agencies and third-party payers; at top-level meetings (national, state, local). May assign administrative support personnel, directors, and others to this task.
  • Maintains the highest quality of care, compliant with state regulations.
  • Responsible for quality staffing and setting standards of work performance for the nursing facility. Fosters a positive work culture and ensures appropriate staff levels are maintained.
  • Maintains professional affiliation and enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trends in nursing facility administration.
  • Encourages and maintains the integration of the nursing facility and other corporate entities with the community/public through effective communication and public relations programs.
  • Coordinates efforts of the DYP medical and administrative staff, division leaders and vice presidents, pastoral care, and consultants, to assist with organizational and administrative problems and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated track record of leadership in post-acute and residential care.
  • Good working knowledge of rules and regulations of intermediate and skilled care in nursing facilities.
  • Thorough understanding of Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to formulate innovative work plans in a team-oriented approach and adapt to a challenging and dynamic environment is essential.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in health, management, or administrative field preferred.
  • Licensed as a nursing facility administrator in the State of Maine.
  • A minimum of 3 years of administrator experience with at least two years in long-term care.

An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

Comp Range:

$113,269.47 - $157,519.03
