The Procurement Transplant Coordinator II (PTC II) should be readily able to respond to organ and tissue donor referrals. The PTC II identifies and manages organ and tissue donors, receives import offers from outside OPOs, participates in organ allocation, and assists in the recovery and distribution of organs and tissues for transplantation. The PTC II is also responsible for assisting with developing hospitals to increase donation. The PTC II can perform both public and professional education.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Must possess qualifications for one of the following: CRT or RRT, LPN, RN, CRNP or PA, and exhibit skills necessary to perform the duties of a PTC I with moderate supervision. A minimum of at least two (2) years experience in organ procurement is required, as well as, certification by the American Board of Transplant Coordinators.

Preferred: Exhibits skills necessary to develop a public and professional education program in a designated region of the OPO.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required: Certification through the American Board of Transplant Coordinators, and maintain active status through renewal. Current licensure/certification as required by professional organizations in area that employee is degreed (CRT, RRT, LPN, RN, PA). Completion of BCLS and/or ACLS from the American Hearth Association (AHA) is required.
