The Pleasant Hope R-6 School District has a position open for a Health Services Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year.
POSITION: Health Services Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
A valid state license to practice as a registered nurse.
Public School Nurse certification, or any other certification required by the state.
Two years of experience in public health nursing, preferably in a school district.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Building Principals and Superintendent or designee
POSITION SUMMARY:
The health services coordinator is responsible for coordinating and ensuring legal, efficient, and effective health services throughout the District.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop nursing/health services procedures and manual for treatment of student mental and physical needs.
Facilitating necessary communication concerning vaccinations and other health regulations.
Scheduling health clinics throughout the school year term and summer months (including, but not limited to physicals, shot clinics, dental, etc.).
Developing and facilitating health trainings for nursing and other District staff annually.
Identify health services and emergency/crisis needs, apply for grants/donations to meet these needs, and create a schedule for health services equipment replacements/implementation.
Serve as the lead health authority in a District emergency or crisis.
Ensure communication with parents, staff, and stakeholder to effectively meet student's health needs.
Serve on the District's staff wellness committee.
Serve as a health representative of the District for students with special needs.
Oversee the preparation and submission of reports to the superintendent and the State Board of Health.
Authorize exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
Advise the Superintendent on health matters and legal changes in relation to school's health services.
Facilitate nursing team meetings and provide resources and services to support the District's health curriculum.
14. Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned by administrator.
