Description
The Executive Director of Clinical Affairs has ultimate responsibility for the direction, coordination, and oversight of all medical services provided by therapists, psychologists, therapy aides, clinical, and clerical support of our three multi-disciplinary clinics. This individual oversees and evaluates the planning and execution of medical services, to include development of policies and practices designed to ensure quality of service and compliance with health care laws and regulations. This individual directs all of the clinical providers and staff and oversees the operations necessary to perform medical services. This position interacts with patients, families, directors, staff, organizations, referring physicians and others as necessary to ensure timely and quality patient care.
Work is performed in the School of Health Professions and Sciences - Allied Health Clinics with approximately 2,000 clinic patients and 20,000 visits per year. The incumbent will have daily interaction with various hospital administration, university departments, faculty, staff, vendor representatives as well as patients and general public. The employee will receive direct supervision from the Associate Dean of Business, Technology, and Research of the School of Health Professions and sciences and indirect supervision from the Dean. This individual will independently undertake tasks and work through their completion, while ensuring that supervised personnel do the same. Incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur to ensure that customer satisfaction is met at all times. Interaction with the Business Manager, faculty, staff, other departments, and the general public will be required of the individual to successfully perform in this position,
The work hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM. Additional hours may be required (exact hours should be modified as appropriate). Lunch/breaks are dictated by workflow. Regular in-person attendance is required to perform the functions of this position.
Qualifications
The applicant must the following:
- Clinical Doctorate or master's degree in one of the Rehabilitation Sciences professions represented by the Department of Clinical Services.
- Active Louisiana State licensure in at least one of the Rehabilitation Sciences professions represented by the Department of Clinical Services.
- At least 5 years of progressive supervisory/management experience of clinical operations, staffing, and patient/referral relations.
- Completion or near completion of an MBA, MHA, or related business-oriented master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in management of clinical operations in a healthcare organization.
- Experience in government and commercial contracting, credentialing, and regulatory requirements of practice management.
