Patient Service Representative (Albemarle) Albemarle Dermatology - Charlottesville, VA 22901 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Apply Description Reports To: Office Manager, Albemarle Dermatology Job Overview: The front desk coordinators are responsible for receiving patients and visitors, determining their needs, and directing them accordingly. They answer telephones, make appointments, manage correspondence, receive payments, and issue receipts and other paperwork to the patients. They perform other clerical and administrative tasks as required. At all times, the front desk coordinators are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of any and all information accessible while performing job duties. Responsibilities and Duties: Greet visitors and patients, determine their needs, and direct them accordingly. Answer questions and provide information within the limits of knowledge and medical practice policies. Schedule all appointments and give routine non-medical instructions in preparation for the patient's visit to the practice. Handle any and all written correspondence between the practice and other providers. Retrieve and file or scan medical records, letters, reports, and miscellaneous items as requested. Collect fees and issue receipts. Count and balance money at the end of the day. Distribute any necessary paperwork to the patient for completion and update patients' electronic medical record. Open and close practice as required. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Qualifications: Education level. High School diploma or equivalent required Experience At least one year of experience working in a position requiring direct relations with people and customer service Specific skills Microsoft Office Ability to learn EHR system (Nextech) Quick & accurate keyboarding skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, upbeat medical setting Problem-solving skills Tact for working effectively with patients, physicians, and other employees in the medical environment. Personal characteristics.
