Role Overview: Patient Service Specialist As a Patient Service Specialist, you ll be the welcoming face of Mercy Urgent Care-providing excellent service, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and supporting patients every step of the way. From registration and insurance verification to compassionate communication, you ll play a key role in creating a positive patient experience.

What You ll Do: Greet and register patients with warmth and professionalism

Verify insurance and process payments

Answer phones, route calls, and support patient inquiries

Maintain a welcoming and organized clinic environment

Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Expectations: Minimum commitment of one 12-hour shift per month (not guaranteed)

Mandatory week of online trainings and additional week of on-the-job shadowing prior to first shift

Regular skills check and review

What We re Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent

1-2 years of healthcare or customer service experience

Strong computer, typing, and money-handling skills

Excellent communication and multitasking abilities

Positive, professional demeanor with compassion for all patients
