POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides support to Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee by answering patient calls, setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Workplace Experience:

At least one year medical office experience and ability to communicate well

Equipment and Skills Training:

Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.

Physical Environment:

Office environment.

Physical Effort:

Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts and Meditech

Maintains current patient information such as demographics and insurance

Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician

Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance

Maintains patient records

Insures patients are informed of changes with providers schedules

Has the ability to work independently

Is able to perform task with limited questions or guidance from co-workers or team lead

Consistently verifies patient insurance information

Follows scheduling instructions

Performs duties with limited scheduling errors

Maintains open line of communication with all staff
