The Program Director for Medical Assisting/Healthcare Program Coordinator will provide leadership in coordination and delivery of healthcare programs for the Center for Workforce Development. Instruction and oversite of CCM's Medical Assisting program is the primary responsibility. The individual will have instructional responsibilities within the program and ensure program effectiveness through outcomes assessment, organization, administration, planning, and development. They will have a broad understanding of program and accreditation requirements, particularly those of the Medical Assisting Review Board (MAERB) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

The Program Director will assist in development and management of CCM noncredit healthcare programs. This includes managing facility usage and instructional supply orders for related programs. The individual will coordinate with Workforce Development administration and healthcare instructors to deliver high quality programs leading to job placement in the field of study and support the assessment for all programs.

The individual will understand the college mission and work in conjunction with college credit faculty and staff to ensure appropriate delivery of programs and services.

Qualifications - Education

Bachelor's degree required. Documentation of training in medical or allied health and training in instructional methodology. Active certification in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, NCMA, NCCT, CCMA, or CMAC) required. Degree in medical-related field preferred.

Qualifications - Experience

Minimum 3-years of experience in the profession of medical assisting. Demonstrated knowledge of

Medical Assisting credit curriculum and industry-valued credentials.

Preferred are 5 years of industry experience, and 2-years of teaching experience; curriculum development experience

Qualifications - Skills

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas and activities to a broad audience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs, excellent computer skills, good phone skills, customer service skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, good communications skills, ability to work under pressure, sensitivity in handling confidential information. Familiarity with external funding sources such as state and federal grants. .

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 with some nights and weekends required.
