Why is this position open: This is a new position that will be responsible for managing, maintenance, and intake of new Service Manager requests. The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is the Medicaid Agency for South Carolina. The Bureau of IT Services is responsible for IT S support for the Department's staff statewide.

Scope of the project:

SCDHHS is seeking an experienced System Center Service Manager administrator. The primary focus of this role is maintaining System Center infrastructure and intaking new requests into Service Manager, Working in the Cireson Web Portal and Developing workflows in System Center Orchestrator.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. The Service Manager Engineer will report to the SCDHHS Bureau Chief of Information Technology Services. They will work with SCDHHS business units to collect and develop requirements for System Center Service Manager request and service offerings. The position is focused on administration and creation of new requests.
  2. Work with System Center Orchestrator. Create new orchestrator workflows, maintaining, and updating workflows.
  3. Work with Cireson. Maintain and update software and work with vendor to fulfill service requests. Updating JavaScript for service request offerings.
  4. Maintain, update, patch Service Manager, Orchestrator, and Cireson.
  5. Develop Reporting on Service Manager Usage.
  6. Interact with staff, other team members, all levels of management and internal and external organizations, including vendors performing outsourced work, in the compilation and management of information needed for Service Manager request offerings.
  7. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or Point of Contact (POC) for developing and managing processes related to the Service Manager environment and make recommendations on specific improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, report template and structure, and productivity to leadership.
  8. Some afterhours project and platform support will be expected.
Program Experience:

Current or recent experience with Microsoft System Center Service Manger is required and will be given the highest weight. Experience should include well documented success with previous Microsoft System Center projects.

Technical Knowledge:

Recent experience related to any or all the following technologies would be considered required for this position:
  • MS System Center Service Manager
  • MS System Center Orchestrator
  • Cireson web portal for Service Manager
Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):
  1. Minimum 3 years of working in a development role supporting Microsoft System Center Service Manager. Candidate needs to be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of services & features, site design & best practices.
