PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and schedules ancillary appointments such as laboratory, radiology, nuclear medicine, and consultations to other specialties specific to patient needs
Schedules surgeries by following standard practice: entering case on Outlook, entering EPICPre-admit, verifying case request has been entered by physician in Epic, and send all necessary information for prior authorizations to be completed by the FACT team
Ability to triage telephone calls using assessment skills based on written guidelines for Otolaryngology Head and Neck Clinic patient population
Using written guidelines, makes telephone assessment of patients medical status from the referring physicians and the community; assess financial/insurance situation of patients, obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure when necessary
Competently utilizes Epic Referrals to create, edit, link, and close online referrals to document appointment referral activity efficiently and effectively; assures all components of referrals are completed appropriately
Works with other PCCs in the referral workque to verify all patients are scheduled in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
OR equivalent education/experience
