The IT Senior Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business areas and information technology, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality business solutions. This role leads the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements throughout project lifecycles, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation. Adhering to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the analyst collaborates with leadership to understand business strategy and communicates direction to IT staff.
This position is eligible to work hybrid (9 or more days a month onsite) in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

Compensation
$105,920 - $126,000

What you'll do
- Lead the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure technical teams fully understand business requirements before solution design and implementation.
- Work closely with executive management to align IT initiatives with business strategy.
- Collaborate with other Senior Business Analysts to identify enterprise-wide business solutions.
- Conduct business process re-engineering and improvement projects.
- Utilize project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to drive projects through Initiate, Plan, Execute, Close, and Monitor/Control phases.
- Develop business cases using cost-benefit analysis for potential software solutions.
- Conduct impact analysis of technology changes on business processes and existing systems.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior and mid-level Business Analysts.
- Participate in vendor user groups and industry forums to advocate for critical application functionalities.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure system changes align with business needs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strategic & Business Analysis Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, process modeling, and requirements elicitation.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data exchange.
- Expertise in software development lifecycles and applying project management principles to lead large-scale initiatives.
- Experience with business process re-engineering and system improvement projects.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into business-friendly language.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, translating complex technical solutions into business-friendly language.
- Foster collaboration with business stakeholders, executives, and IT teams.
- Proficiency in SQL, database design, and programming languages, and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Project).
- Knowledge of software release schedules, testing standards, legacy system integration and modern application development environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, Agile methodologies, and data modeling techniques.
- Experience in defining test scenarios, conducting system impact analysis, and supporting Enterprise testing teams to verify system functionality.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall delivery methods.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while leveraging strong problem-solving, research and analytical skills.
What you need
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a technology, business administration, healthcare administration-related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of eight years in Information Technology or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications - Technologies you will be working with
- HL7 FHIR, US Core, Da Vinci IGs, X12 transactions and healthcare data models
- OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, APIs, Microsoft Azure API Gateway
- SQL, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Project, Visio)
- Vendor platforms supporting interoperability and data exchange
- Agile project management tools like Rally and Microsoft Azure Dev Ops
- Inferno/Touchstone, FHIR validators
- Demonstrated experience with CMS interoperability mandates (e.g., Patient Access, Provider Directory).
- Proficient in SDLC methodologies including Agile/Scrum.
