Optum has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Practice Operations Coordinator to join our team. The Practice Operations Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols relating to front desk, scheduling and administration. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.
Schedule: This is a 40-hour work week to be determined by the supervisor. Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

- Provide excellent customer service
- Support practice operations team, including front desk personnel, with staff coverage plans, scheduling and float coverage
- Practice location responsibility for office supply ordering, organization and distribution
- Practice location mail and delivery communication and support
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, Management Staff, and Physicians
- Assist with staff scheduling and assist manager as needed
- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and actions with patients, staff, Physicians and Administrators at all times
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information
- Provides accurate information so that all departments may view and print the schedule for the appointments daily, and maintains open communication regarding schedule changes
- Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile
- Assists patients with signing in and completing registration
- Enters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into Epic
- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefits
- Collects co-payments and patient balances
- Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- 1+ years of experience using electronic health record
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency (multi-tasking through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license
- Ability to travel to offices listed below
