Hospital Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Elite Medical Center, Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced, patient centric Hospital COO with no less than 5 years recent experience as a Hospital COO in a for profit setting.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the CEO/Governing Board, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides leadership and directs the overall operation of the hospital consistent with established policies. The COO directs and coordinates the hospitals financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increases efficiencies. The COO directs, plans, implements policies, objectives, or activities of the business to ensure the successful operation of the facility. The COO ensures that the operation of the facility is in line with its CORE VALUES which includes being a patient centric provider and an employee centric employer. 

The COO Responsibilities Include

  • Cultivating an environment where employees are empowered and challenged to provide exceptional care, and to deliver an extraordinary patient experience to all.

  • Developing a culture of trust, accountability, transparency, and discipline in all aspects of facility operations, community outreach, patient care and employee relations.
  • Promote exceptional patient safety practices while providing concierge care.
  • Ensures that the quality of medical care meets the hospital's overall goals and mission.
  • Overseeing overall operations of the hospital and guiding key leadership roles in the overall vision, mission and core values of the company.
  • Ensure every aspect of hospital operations are working efficiently and finding balance between managing day-to-day operations and leading strategic development initiatives as it relates to patient satisfaction for long-term success.
  • Implement relevant hospital procedures and policy as needed.
  • Safeguard required compliance with State, Federal and CMS regulations as well as hospital policies.
  • Deliver strong financial performance.
  • Implement new business strategies while maintaining tight budgetary guidelines.
  • Build and develop relationships with outside organizations, including the medical community and media.

COO Qualifications Include

The best candidate for this position shall have recent experience as a Hospital COO with no less than 5 to 10  years’ COO experience in a profitable hospital setting.  Extensive experience with financial management, business development, program planning, process improvements and contract negotiations. Strong interpersonal skills, such as the ability to communicate information clearly and interact positively with a diverse group of people, are essential. Public speaking and the ability to conduct employee and stakeholder meetings are required.  Master’s Degree in Health Care Management/Administration or similar is required.
