Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a nurse who has leadership expereince working in an inpatient Ortho Surgical setting. Experience with an Orthopedic Center of Excellence is a plus. We need someone who can continue to keep an experienced, but young staff engaged.
 
Our client facility, located in the San Antonio region, is a new Orthopedic Hospital that has  10 operating rooms and 15 pre-op beds and 30 inpatient beds. The hospital offers patient-centered orthopedic care that address the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, including joint replacement and arthritis, sports medicine injuries, arthroscopic surgery, spine treatment, and care and surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, knee, foot and ankle. 
 
To be considered you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master Degree in Nursing, Business or Related Field
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 CURRENT years experience in an INPATIENT orthopedic setting.
  •  3-5 years progressively responsible management experience in an inpatient orthopedic setting
  • current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
  • PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Specialty or Administration certification desired.
  • BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network. 

 
The doings of the role:

  • You will oversee approx 50 FTE. Nurse to patient ration is 5 to 1. There is low turnover on the unit and staff is very engaged and experienced.
  • The unit is very busy and they are completing plans for a 12 bed overflow unit. These responsibilities include: budget responsibility; efficient/effective resource utilization; recruitment and effective/efficient management of assigned staff; achieving quality outcomes; performance improvement; monitoring of quality and quantity of services; maintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managers, and purchasing and maintaining equipment.
  • Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

 
Our client is solely focused on providing musculoskeletal care, which provides our clinicians an environment to explore new innovative technology and surgical techniques, utilize specialized operating and treatment rooms, and advance the field of orthopedic research.
 
$ 10,000 SIGN ON BONUS OFFERED/ RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Our client is offering a competitive salary that is based on years of experience. Salary starts at $ 85,000 and goes into the six figure range DOE. This is also a Bonus Eligible role.
